Objects

(1) To develop disseminate promote and publicise the science, technology and art of building and all matters associated with building.

(2) To explore the inter-disciplinary character of the science of building and to arrange for the exchange of knowledge and experience among scientists and practitioners of all fields.

(3) To advance the development and coordination of building materials components and services.

(4) To provide the mechanism for the collaboration of individuals and organisations able to contribute to the advancement of the science of building and its arts, technologies and practices by arranging and conducting meetings conferences forums symposia workshops committee activities etc. necessary for such collaboration.

(5) To collect correlate documents and disseminate knowledge and information about the science and technology of building including that resulting from meetings conferences and similar activities of the Forum and the results of research by the Forum and others and by means of publications abstracts proceedings reports films and other media published by the Forum or by others.

(6) To provide lectures demonstrations and exhibitions in relation to the building industry and generally to pursue such other means of education and publicity as may seem expedient.

(7) To hold or promote competitions of any description authorised by law which may be calculated to assist the objects of the Forum and to advertise or promote the sale Distribution or circulation of any publication issued or sold by the Forum or in which it is interested and to give prizes in connection therewith of any description.

(8) To stimulate encourage recommend coordinate and/or conduct needed research into all branches of building science and practice and to administer cooperatively sponsored research and to accept and/or make grants for the conduct or support of such research the results of which shall be made freely available on a non-discriminatory basis.

(9) To further the advancement, education and research in building and building science at the colleges, universities and other educational institutions interested in these activities.

(10) To cooperate with Government agencies and other organisations having these or similar aims.

(11) To affiliate with any other institution or association or body having the same or similar objects or with whom it may seem desirable to affiliate, to pay affiliation fees and to appoint representatives or delegates with such powers and authorities as may from time to time be conferred upon them for the purpose of attending conferences, meetings and otherwise.

(12) To develop standards and codes of practice for matters and things relating to buildings and where appropriate to submit these to the Standards Association of Australia as bases for national standards.

(13)To initiate and promote improvements in the law and to support or oppose alterations therein and to effect improvements in administration in matters connected with the building industry and for those purposes to take such steps and proceedings as may be deemed expedient or conducive to the attainment of such purposes.

(14) To be represented on technical committees boards etc. constituted by Government, Local Government, the Standards Association of Australia and similar bodies and for that purpose to nominate suitable representatives from its members. And for the purpose of carrying out the foregoing objects the Forum may do all or any of the following:-

(15) To acquire for the use of members libraries and museums to house literature and objects of interest
